Come to Work For Excellence
Founder, hotelier Veteran, and former Chairman of the Ritz Carlton Group Horst Shulze once said in a podcast interview, “Don’t come to work for work; come to work for Excellence.” This made me realise something, and it’s true. I realised I do not come to work for work. I don’t recall showing up for “work” as merely doing a job. I have always shown up with a bigger purpose than just getting paid or completing a task.
Come to work for excellence is about showing up to work with a purpose, a mindset to make a difference, add value, do something for someone, or make someone’s life better because of your presence and the service you deliver.
When you have a higher purpose for why you do what you do, you will always show up with that motivation regardless of the circumstances. Every day at work will be different.
When you come to work with excellence and find your purpose, magic happens.
